About Backpacker's Pantry
Our facility is in the amazing town of Boulder Colorado. We have been here for over 25 years and still love it as much as the day we moved here from Northern California. We have built our own facility on land we own. We have made it as tight as we can, meaning R20 walls and a R40 ceiling to keep the building warm in the winter and cooler in the summer. We have installed in floor radiant heat because it uses so much less energy to heat our facility. We have also installed air conditioning systems that use outside air if it is cooler than the air temperature we would like for our indoor environment. We hope to add a large solar array when we can afford to. Currently we use 100% wind power to power the facility.
We also recycle and compost at our facility and hope to make our packaging recyclable and/or compostable when it is available in the market. We do have a recycling program for our pouches through Terracycle. Terracycle is an amazing company that recycle or upcycles hard to recycle products. We pay a fee to do this, but it is the right thing to do so we do it gladly. Just contact us and we will have an envelope shipped to your home or office. All you need to do is put your used pouches into the envelope and put it in the mail. You can even put our competitor’s pouches in there to be recycled, let’s just get as much recycled as we can. Postage is already on the return envelope.
