Reviews
    1. 6/10, good but needed more salt, veggies, not very fried Review by Monika

We set off backpacking to Parque Nacional Cajas near Cuenca, Ecuador. The elevation here was higher, around 10,000ft-15,000ft. This meant that we had to lengthen the rehydration time, to about 25-30minutes or so.
I was excited to try out this backpacking meal, so excited that I forgot to read the label before we set off on our hike. At camp, I noticed that the label said that after rehydrating the noodles, they had to be cooked in the packed of olive oil in a frying pan over the camp stove for 5-10min. We had only brought a JetBoil, but decided to try out frying the noodles in the JetBoil after all the water for everyone's meals had been boiled. BAD IDEA. The heat was too intense and the shape of the JetBoil was not the right one for frying noodles. The noodles quickly stuck and burned on the bottom of the JetBoil, and the rest stayed goopy and did not get "fried" at all. This left a big mess to be cleaned up later, soaking and scraping to get the caked-on noodle gunk off of the JetBoil.
The noodles were disappointingly bland. I think that salt would have helped. After this trip, I decided to bring some salt packets with me always, because I need lots of salt especially after a long day of backpacking. The noodles were not very fried. Although it was pleasant to have vegetables, I would have enjoyed some more. The portion size was good though, leaning a little toward the smaller side.
If I decide to purchase this again, I will 1) bring a frying pan, 2) bring salt or a packet of soy sauce, and 3) bring my own extra dehydrated veggies to add to the meal.

      My rating: 6/10
